The majority of TalkU’s features still work well on older 2G networks like EDGE or GPRS. Notable exceptions include the group phone call feature, sharing large pictures and sending long video clips.

The TalkU app has a built-in invitation function. You can send invitation to your friends via SMS or email. You can also post information about TalkU to your Facebook wall or Twitter so that your friends know you are using TalkU.

An activation code will be sent to your phone by SMS. Your phone number will also be used to find friends on TalkU. For example if a friend has your phone number in their address book, that friend can identify you as a TalkU user in their app.

When TalkU is idle in the background, it uses almost no network or computing power. When you use low-drain TalkU features like voice call, Push-to-Talk or message, the app uses relatively little power.

Yes, you can continue using TalkU. However, it is recommended that you deactivate TalkU on your phone and re-activate it with the new phone number. If you do not do this, contacts with your new phone number may not be able to find you on TalkU.

If you subscribe to a service like iCould, you can remote-wipe your phone. After that, you really don’t need do anything special. Otherwise, you can take the following steps to stop TalkU working on the lost device:
1. Install the TalkU app on your new phone (assuming your new phone has kept the same phone number)

You can easily set up call forwarding for any of your TalkU phone numbers. Calls to a TalkU phone number can be forwarded to any other phone number in any country.

You can easily set up voicemail for any of your TalkU phone numbers and use the default voice greeting or record your own.

Yes. You can use TalkU phone numbers purchased via credit card or subscription to register accounts for some apps & websites. However, to prevent fraud activity, some apps like Facebook and WhatsApp only accept the phone number from the SIM card in your device.

No. You cannot change your TalkU phone number for free. If you want to change your phone number, you will need to pay for the new TalkU number.

We will keep your phone number for 7 days after its expiration. You can get it back within those 7 days before it's recycled. After the number recycled, the number may be purchased by another user and you cannot get it back. (If you have owned the number for less than a month, we can only keep it for one or two days after expiration.)
